Is a calorie really a calorie?

Yup. According to this respected doc, there’s no magic involved in weight loss. So no… carbs don’t magically turn to fat. There’s nothing magical about vegetarianism either. Plus, nobody’s sure what people in the Paleo period ate, in fact as scientists analyze the teeth of ancient people, they’re finding definite evidence that these folks ate plants… and a LOT of them.

So how do we lose weight? According to to this article, it’s simple: if you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. Radical, eh?

However… foods that are low in calorie density will fill you up before you consume too many calories. Focus your diet on plants and you’ll naturally eat fewer calories, up your nutrition, and your energy will soar. That’s exactly how I lost all this weight (approx 90 pounds and holding). I eat delicious food that is naturally low calorie because I base my diet on beans, grains, fruits, and vegetables.

Yum. Doesn’t get better than that. I think I’ll go whip up a tasty treat for a snack today… perhaps my famous ice cream. I’ll have to post pics. 🙂
